Control your shopfloor

On a busy shopfloor, finding out what is going on can be a nightmare.  This can make accurate planning difficult, if not impossible.

Using our Shop module you can pinpoint the progress of a job and how many items have been produced so far – without having to leave your office

The Shop Module can help you gain complete control of your shopfloor.

Monitor work in progress

When a works order is created in the Make module, it will automatically update the Shop module.  It passes across a list of manufacturing operations required to produce the batch.

Using this information the Shop module can now produce a detailed “routecard” to accompany a batch, which provides a full description of all the operations needed.

As each operation is completed on an order, your staff make “bookings”.  These simple transactions tell the module what work has been done.

As the Shop module is continually updated you can immediately see the current progress of any batch.

Plan the work, work the plan

It usually takes a lot of time deciding what your shopfloor should make next – and then writing a plan to pass on to staff.  With the Shop module you can produce detailed ‘work to’ lists for each department in moments.

Your shopfloor staff will always know precisely what they should be working on now, and the next job they should prepare for.

Look out for bottlenecks

The Shop module contains a sophisticated “capacity planning” programme.  In a few minutes this can simulate all the orders flowing through your factory, working out the production time needed for every batch.

It calculates the loads on each department, allowing you to easily spot any bottlenecks, or departments that might not have enough work.

This means you can take steps to avoid the problems, before they occur.

Know the cost of every batch

As a batch is being produced, the Shop module keeps a log of all the materials used and time taken.  When the batch is finished an actual “job cost” can be calculated.

Job costing is a powerful management tool and especially useful in today’s economic climate, where you have to watch every penny.
